A Positive Mindset Cultivates Great Success

Dear Whasanians,

Warm greetings to you all! It has now been a year since I became the fourth principal of Yan Chai Hospital Wong Wha San Secondary School. Since the start of the second school term last year, I have introduced the ‘Principal’s Talk’ as a key feature of our morning assembly. It brings me immense joy and gratitude to celebrate with you the wonderful news and outstanding accomplishments achieved by our Whasanian family — past, present, ongoing, and future. I hope these stories inspire pride, and a deep sense of belonging within our vibrant school community, offering encouragement to each and every one of you.

As we look forward to the new academic year, I sincerely encourage each of you to adopt a positive and forward-looking mindset in your quest for truth, knowledge, and the fulfilment of your aspirations. Treat every challenge you encounter as a valuable opportunity for learning and growth. Setbacks and obstacles are inevitable along the journey, but remember: failure does not mark the end. Rather, it offers us precious lessons that help us build resilience and determination, paving the way for future success and personal growth. By plucking up the courage to face adversities, we become stronger and more adaptable with each experience.

Furthermore, maintaining a positive outlook is absolutely essential. Irrespective of the hurdles we may face, nurturing optimism and positivity empowers us to boost our self-confidence and tackle both academic and life challenges with renewed motivation. Each day, then, becomes filled with hope and energy, propelling us to strive forward and harder.
